"Myriad" by Friends University senior art exhibition

Myriad: make art as individuals, show art as collaborators. “Myriad” features the 2017 graduating art majors from Friends University. The diverse approach yet cohesive goal of the students is expressed in the complete title of the show. This group of students create their art in different media and styles, but are excited to come together to make something better as collaborators.

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition begin in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated. Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol. Voyage to Vietnam: Celebrating the Tet Festival was created by Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose, and is part of the Freeman Foundation Asian Culture Exhibit Series, funded by the Freeman Foundation and administered by Association of Children’s Museums.

The annual Christian music tour, Winter Jam Tour Spectactular, is returning to INTRUST Bank Arena on Friday, March 31. This year's tour includes Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Crowder as the headliner with special guests Britt Nicole, Tenth Avenue North, Andy Mineo, Colton Dixon, NewSong and Thousand Foot Krutch. Pre-Jam Party Artists will include OBB, Sarah Reeves and Steven Malcolm. The show will also include Tony Nolan as the speaker and special guest Sadie Robertson of "Duck Dynasty" and contestant on "Dancing with the Stars."

There are no advance ticket sales for this show. Tickets can be purchased for $10 at the door.

Join the Kansas Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists as they present Gridiron 2017. This annual production is one of Wichita's oldest and most hilarious stage shows, which stars local media professionals singing, dancing, and spoofing the past year's news and newsmakers. Gridiron is a fundraiser for the Kansas Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists to raise money for journalism scholarships for Kansas college students.
