Meet Chiyoko and Sarah
Chiyoko and Sarah are collaborating with Don Wright, owner of Old Mill Tasty Shop, for the Front Porch project.
Chiyoko and Sarah Myose are a mother-daughter team from Wichita, Kansas. Chiyoko is originally from Japan, and now lives and works in Wichita, Kansas. She holds a BA in English Literature from Doshisha Women’s College in Kyoto, Japan and a BFA in painting from Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas. Her works are primarily painting and installation arts. Chiyoko has been showing her works through exhibitions and commissions regionally, nationally, and internationally. She is married and has two children, including Sarah.
Sarah is an artist who was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated with an Honors Baccalaureate degree with concentrations in studio art and sociology at Wichita State University. She has exhibited artwork at local galleries and been involved in the creation of several murals throughout Wichita. Sarah is a current Harvester Arts Community Fellow, during which she has created an arts-based organization called BE SEEN.
Apart from her artistic involvement, Sarah works at URGE: Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity as a Kansas State Organizer and is involved in Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc and the National Association for Asian American Professionals in Wichita.
