LIVING TOUR TO HIGHLIGHT DOWNTOWN’S RESIDENTIAL OFFERINGS

WICHITA, Kan. – 2/27/2014 – The Downtown Wichita residential market is booming. With it, young professionals, empty nesters, and families are increasingly interested in living the walkable, urban lifestyle. To highlight this growth, and the distinctive living spaces available in Downtown, the Wichita Downtown Development Corporation will present a Downtown Living Tour on Sunday, March 29 from 1-5pm. Additional event info can be found at www.DowntownWichitaLivingTour.com.

Zach Wiggins, a Downtown resident says, "Living Downtown is great, especially if you are lucky enough to work Downtown as well, like I do. I live right in the middle of so many events, restaurants, businesses and everything else that happens Downtown. Additionally, with new development taking place, living Downtown has allowed me to both see and also be a part of the changes!"

The Downtown Living Tour is a free open house event for everyone to enjoy. Participating residential properties will welcome visitors to view units and amenities. Properties include: The LUX, The Rock Island Lofts, Eaton Place, Player Piano Lofts, The Finn Lofts, Innes Station, Commerce Street Lofts, The Flats 324 and WaterWalk Hotel Apartments. In addition, the WDDC offices will be open for a sneak peak of Downtown’s newest upcoming residential properties. The Q-Line trolley will also provide free transportation for the duration of the event.

Recently, Zimmerman/Volk Associates Inc. updated Project Downtown: The Master Plan for Wichita’s residential market study. The study shows a significant increase in residential market potential for Downtown. Per the study, Downtown Wichita can absorb 1,750 additional units over the next five to seven years, predominantly rental dwelling units.

“We have seen tremendous growth in our residential sector, and the variety of offerings that have come online has been exciting to see. The Downtown Living Tour on March 29 is the perfect opportunity to showcase what Downtown living has to offer,” states Jeff Fluhr, President of the Wichita Downtown Development Corporation.

The Downtown Living Tour is sponsored in part by Bokeh Development, Marketplace Properties, The Finn Lofts, WaterWalk Hotel Apartments, Eaton Place and Commerce Street Lofts.
