In the heart of downtown Wichita in historic Union Station, Jenny Dawn Cellars (JDC) is the only African American female-owned urban winery in Kansas. All JDC wine is crafted and bottled on-site, using grapes, fruit, and juice sourced from the finest growers in Kansas and California. The winery offers many services, including wine flights, small bites, private wine tastings, wine club, locker memberships, and monthly wine education classes called “Wineucation.” The winery also offers venue rental in their attached event center.

Jenny Dawn Cellars is currently participating in the Front Porch project. Their porch will be designed by local creative Belinda Smith. The project brings creatives and local business owners together to create an outdoor extension of their businesses. The inspiration for the project comes from the idea of the midwestern front porch - a space that is crucial to community, family, identity and conversation.

Downtown Wichita received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Knight Foundation Fund at the Wichita Community Foundation for the Front Porch project.
