Downtown Wichita Fun for the Fourth Window Decorating Contest
This summer, Downtown Wichita is turning up the energy as we celebrate two major milestones: America’s 250th anniversary and the big soccer games coming to Kansas.
We’re inviting downtown businesses to join the excitement by bringing their storefronts to life with patriotic pride and global spirit.
Building on the success of our holiday contest, this first-ever summer window decorating competition will run from June 28 - July 11, 2026.
We encourage businesses to incorporate all things red, white, and blue, leaning into what makes Wichita and Kansas shine on the national and global stage.
Winners will be announced on July 13, 2026, on our website and social media. The top three displays will receive cash prizes: $500, $250 and $100.
Participation
Downtown businesses can sign up below. Windows must be decorated and photo-ready by June 8, 2026.
Displays can include painted windows, installed scenes or other creative concepts. Participants will receive a placard for the voting period and are encouraged to promote their windows to customers and social media audiences to rally votes. Businesses must take and submit their own photo in order to be considered.
The Fun for the Fourth promotion and prize eligibility are limited to businesses located within the Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District: from the Arkansas River east to Washington Avenue, and from Kellogg north to Central Street.
