At 12:00 noon on Friday, May 8th 2026, the Veterans Memorial Park Board of Wichita will host a VE Day Commemoration.  This historical event in 1945 signified the end of World War II hostilities in the European Theater.  The commemoration will take place at the Park’s WWII Memorial and will include the National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation, a short talk on the significance of the day and the sounding of Taps.  The event is open to the public.  Since this is a short event, no seating will be provided, but guests who wish to sit are welcome to bring their own chairs.
