Artists Take on Basketball Art

Three local artists have been selected to showcase basketball-inspired installations in downtown Wichita during the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship. These temporary works bring creativity to the city and the tournament experience. Check them out March 15 through April 7!

Taylor McQueary
Artwork to be featured at 509 E. Douglas Ave.

Taylor McQueary is a multidisciplinary artist and educator with a background in industrial design and a master's in education. Her work spans painting, graphic design, illustration and fiber art, reflecting a strong emphasis on creativity, critical thinking and cross-disciplinary collaboration. As an art educator, she fosters inclusive learning environments that encourage artistic exploration and expression.

McQueary’s work has been exhibited at venues such as Mark Arts, Harvester Arts and The Workroom with her murals and mixed-media pieces receiving recognition for their depth and storytelling. Alongside her teaching, she continues to expand her artistic practice through freelance commissions, public art projects and competitive artist fellowships.

Mike Glasscock

Mike Glasscock is a graphic designer whose work seamlessly blends modern typography, thoughtful composition and brand-driven storytelling. His style balances clean, strategic design with a fusion of vintage and contemporary aesthetics. Influenced by architecture, interior design and mid-century design principles, he integrates bold yet refined typography, cohesive color palettes and dynamic layouts to create engaging visual identities and marketing materials.

Glasscock’s work, primarily seen throughout Wichita in branding and graphic design, incorporates both digital and tactile elements, often mixing sleek layouts with handcrafted details, repurposed materials and vintage-inspired elements. While he is looking to expand his work into more installations and exhibits, his passion for storytelling through design continues to evolve as he explores new techniques and creative ventures.

Envision Arts

​Envision Arts, a program by Envision, is a year-round initiative dedicated to empowering individuals who are blind, visually impaired or disabled through artistic expression. Located in the fully accessible ARSI Expressive Arts Center and Patricia Peer Art Studio in downtown Wichita, the program offers a variety of daytime and after-school classes as well as special evening and weekend workshops. Participants engage in multiple art modalities, including movement, visual and tactile arts, music, writing, sound and drama, fostering self-discovery and creative growth.

In addition to its educational offerings, the Envision Arts Program hosts local, regional and national exhibitions, providing a platform for artists to showcase their work. The program's mission is to enhance psychosocial health, increase independence and enrich the lives of individuals with vision loss and other disabilities through the transformative power of the arts.
