The City of Wichita is redesigning an underutilized urban park into a new public gathering place. The improvements to the park will honor the legacy of Chester I. Lewis, the namesake of the park, who was the president of the Wichita chapter of the NAACP and was a leader of the modern civil rights movement at the local, state and national levels.
