Wichita Biomedical Campus℠ Taking Shape in Downtown Wichita

Construction is underway on the Wichita Biomedical Campus℠, an estimated $300 million, 471,000-square-foot health sciences facility in downtown Wichita. Developed through a partnership between Wichita State University, the University of Kansas and WSU Tech, the campus will serve approximately 3,000 students and 200 faculty and staff, with room to expand. By pooling the collective strengths of the region’s health sciences programs, the project will expand opportunities for collaboration, innovation and research while signaling a strong investment in the community’s health.

Located near private hospitals and health care providers, the new campus will form the foundation of a biomedical corridor that strengthens connections between education, research and patient care. The high-tech, shared facility will feature advanced laboratories, clinical research spaces and simulation technology designed to prepare the next generation of health professionals, including mental health counselors and therapists. With its downtown location, the Wichita Biomedical Campus℠ will attract students, educators and researchers from across the country, boost the local economy and solidify Wichita’s role as a hub for health care education and innovation.
