Douglas Avenue, the Pop-Up Park project transformed a significant hole in the ground and eyesore into a vibrant, active community park. The project was realized in 2015 when Downtown Wichita partnered with Bokeh Development and received a grant from the Knight Foundation Fund at the Wichita Community Foundation. The park is activated on a daily basis with food truck vendors and hosts a variety of community events. Downtown Wichita manages the Facebook page for the park, which has over 12,000 followers, and promotes the food truck schedule in partnership with the Wichita Food Truck Coalition.
