InvestorAssistanceTheWDDCprovidescontinuedassistanceinconnectingprospectiveinvestorswiththeresourcestheyneedtomaketimelydecisions.ThisincludesthepublicationofanAnnualDevelopersGuideandwhenadvantageousdirectconnectiontomembersoftheProjectDowntownTeamDesign-GoodyClancyRetail-MJBConsultantsCommercialHospitality-W-ZHAHousing-ZimmermanVolkAssociates.CommunityEnhancementOriginatingin2010theWDDChasconductedanAnnualDowntownCleanUpevent.Eachyearover100volunteershaveparticipatedonaSaturdaymorningtoshowtheircommunitypride.PartneringwiththeCityofWichitadynamicimprovementsaremadewithinjustafewhoursofwork.In2014theWDDChopestoaddafalleventtothetraditionalspring-timeevent.TheWDDCalsoprovidessponsorshipsforanumberofDowntownevents.In2013theWDDCprovidedover17000insponsorships.AlsotheorganizationassistedinrecruitinganeweventDowntownduetoitoutgrowingthepreviouslocation.In2014theKomenRacefortheCurewillholditsrstDowntownanchoredrace.TheWDDCiscurrentlydevelopingcriteriathatwillhelpdirectsponsorshipfundingtowardevenmorecatalyticinvestmentinexpandedornewevents.EconomicResearchTheWDDCiscommittedtoprovidingpertinenteconomicdata.ThisisrstaccomplishedthroughProjectDowntownsEconomicMarketDemandAnalysis.TheWDDCcontinuallymonitorsthisdatatodeterminewhenupdatesarerequired.Basedontheresidentialdevelopmentsince2010theWDDCiscurrentlyworkingwithZimmermanVolktoupdatetheResidentialMarketAnalysis.Thestudywillbecompletedbysummer2014.TheWDDChassecuredanumberofprivatesectorfundingpartnerstohelpfundtheupdate.In2013theWDDCreleasedtherstStateofDowntownReport.ThisdocumentprovidestimelyU.S.CensusDataandlocalmarketanalysis.WorkinginpartnershipwiththeCityofWichitaSedgwickCountyandWichitaStateUniversitybenchmarkdataisassistingdecisionsbythepublicandprivatesectors.TheWDDCiscommittedtothereleaseofthisreportonanannualbasis.Alsoin2013theWDDCparticipatedintheInternationalDowntownAssociationresearchprojectDowntownRebirthDocumentingtheLive-WorkDynamicin21stCenturyU.S.Cities.Thereportresearchedthe150largestAmericanCitiesintheareasofEmploymentDensityandLive-WorkQuotients.Itwasfoundincomparisonwiththe150citiesthatWichitahasaModeratelyHighJobDensityandaHighLive-WorkQuotient.WDDCInitiativesDevelopmentThisareaofWDDCinitiativescoversanumberofdiverseitemsInvestorAssistanceCommunityEnhancementEconomicResearchandEducationRetentionRecruitmentWDDCI5AnnualDowntownCleanUpPerspectiveRenderingfromProjectDowntownItisamilestoneweveworkedtogetherasacommunitytoachieve.TheplanfocusesonkeyareasofourDowntownillustratingthepotentialthatthecommunityhastogrow.Theplanhasoverwhelmingsupportfromtheprivateandpublicsectors.Ablueprintforourfutureitbenetsthepublicandprivatesectorwhenmakingdecisionsbeingstrategicwithpublicsectorinvestmentsoweasacommunitymaximizeprivatesectorinvestment.ProjectDowntownwasunanimouslyadoptedbytheWichitaCityCouncilin2010andcontinuestohelpshapeourDowntown.ProjectDowntownTheMasterPlanforWichitaBikersinOldTownDistrict
